Learning and Talent Development are Critical for Successful Digital Transformation According to New Research by HR.com and SumTotal

HR and L&D leaders are strongly positioned to address the inadequate skills development cited as a significant barrier to digital transformation

BOSTON and AURORA, Ontario – December 4, 2018 – HR.com and SumTotal Systems, a Skillsoft company, today announced the results of joint research that demonstrates learning and talent development are crucial for digital transformation. The majority of the 434 human resources (HR) professionals surveyed indicate that digital transformation is an executive-level initiative, but only about one-third say their organizations have made progress with it.

The research report, The Role of Learning in Digital Transformation, investigates how today’s HR professionals view and facilitate digital transformation in their organization and the factors that contribute to or hinder its development. Digital transformation is defined in this study as, “the concept of integrating technology into all areas of the business to effectively keep up in today’s ever-changing digital economy.”

The report provides the following insights and analysis:
