Course Description and Key Learning Objectives

This course will introduce you to the features, tools, and process flows of the SumTotal Goal and Performance Management module. After a discussion about Goal Setting and Performance Appraisals, you will get to see a demonstration of the Performance Management 7- or 9-Step process flows. You will then have the opportunity to practice the main workflow tasks of the system. This course will allow you to help your organization get the greatest benefit from using the SumTotal Goal and Performance Management modules.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Define Goal Management and identify the two types of goals used in the system
  • Identify the main features and tools of SumTotal Performance Management
  • Describe the Performance Management process from defining goals to completing a performance appraisal
  • Demonstrate how to execute Performance Management processes such as:
    • Initiating and assigning Performance Appraisals
    • Composing and distributing notifications and verifications
    • Tracking Performance Appraisal completion

Prerequisites

  • Completion of the Performance Management Product Orientation and Basic Administration courses
  • Access to the SumTotal Goal and Performance Management module
  • Basic Internet skills and intermediate computer skills
  • Familiarity with your organization’s performance goals and appraisal process
