Add assessments that grab attention

Choose from over a dozen different graded question types—including true/false, multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, hotspot, drag-and-drop, and more. ToolBook enables you to:

  • Incorporate Flash, images, and narration to add clarity to your questions.
  • Provide feedback for remediation to a user on either a question-by-question basis or at the end of the quiz. Feedback can be text, audio, Flash and more.
  • Brand your quizzes with your corporate logo and other stylistic elements.
  • Navigate to other pages, play Flash, or do various other actions based on a user's test results.
  • Use the Quiz Summary feature to give learners detailed assessment results right within their course.

Turn your Microsoft PowerPoint library into SCORM-compliant courses

With the ability to import Microsoft PowerPoint files into ToolBook, you now have even more choices when developing content. For example, you can quickly re-use existing PowerPoint content to cut development time — simply import the PowerPoint file into ToolBook as described in the picture below. Then, add assessments, interactivity, media, and rich effects using ToolBook. For deployment, publish the content to the SCORM format using the ToolBook Web publishing feature.

You can also increase the involvement of your Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in content authoring. After instructional designers create a PowerPoint-based storyboard, SMEs can populate the storyboard using the familiar PowerPoint interface. Next, these PowerPoint files are imported into ToolBook as shown below. For deployment, just publish the content out to SCORM format using the ToolBook Web publishing feature. PowerPoint speaker notes and audio files can also be imported, giving you even more options when reusing PowerPoint content.

Geolocation support for mobile content  

This feature—a first for an online content authoring solution—enables authors to create content that can apply a user's geographical location in learning. Here are a few examples of how this might be useful:

  • Courses can be created to display information based on where users are when they view materials—so users on the factory floor can see training content relevant to that location, while users in the store front see alternate content that's pertinent to where they are.
  • Courses can also use geolocation to ensure learners are successfully performing learning tasks. For example, a course that teaches fire safety training can detect if a user is physically locating various fire exits within a building.

Create certificates to signify success  

When you acknowledge the success of your learners, you help increase satisfaction and encourage greater adoption and usage of your learning solution. ToolBook offers more than a dozen professional certificate templates, as well as custom certificate capabilities, so you can easily reward learners as they complete courses.

Engage your learners with voice narration feature

The addition of sound to a course opens a new sensory channel for users, so they are more apt to absorb and retain data. New voice recording playback options give your learners more control. Play, pause, stop, and restart can now be made available to your learners when they are listening to voice narrations or any audio type.
