SumTotal Stream Feeds Learning and Performance Data into Commonly Used Applications for Employees and Administrators

SumTotal Stream integrates with Facebook and Microsoft Outlook to Enhance User Experience; New Integration with LinkedIn APIs Pulls Career Profile Information

Mountain View, Calif., September 29, 2009 — SumTotal® Systems, Inc., a market leader and a global provider of talent development solutions, today released SumTotal Stream, an innovative feed of updates, activities and actions from the SumTotal Talent Development Suite that can be accessed from a variety of productivity and social networking applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Facebook and LinkedIn. Employees and HR administrators will now have access to learning and performance management content from the applications they use on a daily basis without having to launch the SumTotal portal. Through a new integration with LinkedIn APIs, users will also be able to automatically populate their SumTotal ResultsOnDemand Performance Career Profile with their LinkedIn information through a simple wizard.

With SumTotal Stream, employees can receive alerts around assigned training, registered learning courses and goal tasks in a platform where they already live. HR administrators and managers can receive and act upon approval alerts, view team status, assign goals and register employees for training without launching the SumTotal portal. Additionally, they can view and update course rosters, as well as update user profile information and create new learning activities. Specific integration details include:

• Microsoft Outlook: SumTotal's integration allows access to Talent Development tasks within the widely adopted Microsoft Outlook email client.  Not only will employees be able to react directly to Application alerts, they will be able to view Profile Information and provide real-time feedback to other employees with the SumTotal profile launch button that is available next to each User within the email view screens.
  


• Facebook: With SumTotal's new Facebook Application, employees who typically use this Social Network will be able to receive Talent Development alerts and connect with colleagues all while in the Facebook site.
  


• LinkedIn: SumTotal's LinkedIn API integration will allow employees to maintain their Portable Career Profile in LinkedIn, and then make this information available through SumTotal's ResultsOnDemand Performance application.
