Mountain View, Calif. – June 21, 2007 – SumTotal® Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUMT), a global provider of talent and learning management solutions, signed a contract to provide 7,000 employees at Milpitas, Calif.-based JDSU – a leading enabler of broadband and optical innovation – with TotalPerformance™, software that sets and analyzes employee goals, develops succession plans, identifies high-performing workers and automates performance appraisals. JDSU carries out its operations around the globe. So earlier this month, SumTotal implemented the performance management software for JDSU in Chinese, English and French.
“SumTotal’s product aligns well with our new emphasis on performance management tools that enable high-quality feedback between managers and employees and development dialogue versus providing a strictly quantitative rating process,” said Jenny Brandemuehl, director of Talent Management & Organization Effectiveness for JDSU.
“We feel SumTotal’s Visual Profiler™ drag-and-drop functionality for rating employees is innovative and provides us with flexibility,” added Carlino Cecilio, HRIS manager for JDSU. “We also chose SumTotal because of its full-service offering and breadth of product suite. They not only provided a BPO model where standard configurations will be done continually, but also a learning management system that delivers and tracks workforce education.”
SumTotal’s BPO (business process outsourcing) services include ongoing system administration as well as help-desk support for users.
“JDSU’s vision for managing talent is a strategic one that taps technology to improve performance and gauge how well employees are carrying out their jobs,” said Nick Rusiniak, SumTotal’s director of sales for Western North America. “With the implementation of TotalPerformance, we feel JDSU has built a foundation for a multi-year plan to deploy goal-setting, workforce succession planning, 360-degree feedback and our learning management system in one, integrated talent management solution.”
The Mountain View, Calif., company will host TotalPerformance for JDSU at SumTotal’s data center.
