MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – December 4, 2006 – Military Training Technology magazine and Kerrigan Media International have placed SumTotal® Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUMT) on the Military Training Technology 2006 Top 100 List for the second consecutive year. The list includes companies that have made significant contributions to the military training industry. SumTotal makes software that not only delivers and manages training over the Internet but also automates employee performance appraisals.
Selection criteria for this year’s list included customer feedback, innovation and volume of military sales. Military Training Technology magazine also awarded SumTotal an orange ribbon for “Best Programs,” which denotes a company that has been involved with or spearheaded programs that are revolutionizing training for the military. According to the magazine, SumTotal “received contracts this year from U.S. Northern Command, Defense Security Service, U.S. Army Military Intelligence School, Defense Acquisition University and Defense Ammunition Center.”
“We believe our mission is giving warfighters a range of cutting-edge training and development tools that will help them complete their mission anywhere, anyplace and anytime,” said Jim Gill, SumTotal Systems’ director of Government Solutions. “Earning this ribbon and place on the Top 100 confirms we’ve kept our focus upon our mission and our expertise.”
The magazine’s editorial board and panel of independent experts also noted SumTotal’s acquisition of MindSolve Technologies Inc., a privately held provider of performance management software, in describing why SumTotal earned a place on this year’s Top 100 list.
According to industry analysts, the MindSolve solution provides best-in-class, patented technology for analyzing skills and appraising performance. The SumTotal Enterprise Suite 7.2 now combines the industry's leading learning management system (LMS), learning content management system (LCMS), virtual classroom service (VCS), dashboard measurement system and performance management solution on a single, integrated platform.
From December 4 – 7, 2006, SumTotal executives will showcase the software maker’s award-winning technology -- the SumTotal Enterprise Suite – at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), booth #646, at the Orange County Convention Center on International Drive in Orlando, Florida.
