Mountain View, Calif. – November 30, 2006 – SumTotal® Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUMT), the largest provider of talent and learning solutions, has promoted Jack Kramer to the newly created position of vice president and general manager, International. Kramer will be responsible for sales, marketing and services across Africa, Asia/Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America and the Middle East. Kramer previously served as vice president of Intercontinental Sales. As vice president of Intercontinental Sales, Kramer led a team responsible for selling SumTotal’s products and services to customers across Asia/Pacific, India and Latin America.
Before his promotion to vice president of Intercontinental Sales, Kramer served as vice president of Global Alliances for SumTotal. In that post, he was responsible for driving strategy, sales and support for SumTotal partners who specialized in business process outsourcing, systems integration, OEM and content development.
“As head of our Global Alliances group, Jack consolidated our network of partnerships and implemented new models for building relationships in the future. As vice president for Intercontinental Sales, he developed a process-based approach that we believe will be the foundation for long-term success in Asia and Latin America,” said Dave Crussell, chief operating officer for SumTotal Systems. “In his newest role, Jack will lead a team charged with developing and deploying go-to market plans across five continents. We feel Jack – and his team – can accelerate our growth outside of the United States in a profitable way.”
Kramer joined SumTotal after the company acquired Pathlore Software Corporation, a rival maker of learning management systems, in October 2005. Before that, he led the North American sales force for Pathlore, which he joined in 2002. Kramer has earned kudos at both start-ups and publicly traded companies for turning around poorly performing teams, revamping processes and supercharging sales. Earlier in his career, he held roles selling enterprise software applications for Computer Associates, Pansophic and NCR Corporation.
