MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (July 21, 2004) – SumTotal Systems (NASDAQ: SUMT), the industry’s largest provider of learning and business performance technologies, services and processes, today launched The Legends Series, an offering of monthly Web seminars led by the industry’s leading experts in business performance improvement and learning management.
The series provides a unique opportunity to learn from a wide range of thought leaders about increasing organizational and individual performance, and how business performance improvement can impact the overall bottom-line results of companies, government agencies and other organizations. Session hosts include Geary Rummler, inventor of performance improvement; Elliott Masie, learning guru and founder and president of The MASIE Center; Paul Green, inventor of behavioral-based interviewing; and John Coné, former CLO of Dell Computers and expert on technology-enabled learning.
Gloria Gery, authority on developing and implementing interactive training and performance support systems, will kick off the series with "At the Moment of Need: Providing On-Demand Resources," presented on Friday, July 23, 2004 from 9-10 am PDT / 12-1 pm EDT.
“The context of business learning is changing due to the no-time-to-spare pace of today's work environment. Event-based or ‘just in case’ learning is no longer adequate; now, employees need knowledge, data and tools integrated into the workflow so that it is available at the moment of need. This accessibility greatly increases the knowledge at employees' fingertips at crucial times - when talking to a customer, when working with a complex tool, etc.,” said Gery. In her session, Gery will discuss how organizations are embedding performance into the workflow and creating performance in the situation while still generating employee capability. The presentation will be followed by a brief discussion of how the SumTotal’s solutions support the integration of performance and learning management.
“We are delighted to have this remarkable group of experts join us in our efforts to demonstrate the immediate impact that strong learning initiatives and learning technologies can have on critical business issues in virtually every organization,” said R. Andrew Eckert, SumTotal CEO. “We have seen countless organizations that implement broad-scale learning and business performance improvement programs for their workforces and extended value chains realize significant returns in both performance and profitability. We hope this Web seminar series provides the tangible tools and best practices that will help other organizations build a roadmap for learning strategies of their own.”
