SumTotal Talent Expansion™ Applications Enable High-Performance Organization at City of Danville

Virginia-based City Adds SumTotal Compensation and Analytics to its SumTotal Learn and Performance Applications to Create a Pay-for-Performance Culture

Gainesville, Fla.– Nov. 18, 2013 – SumTotal® Systems, LLC, the largest independent provider of integrated HR solutions, today announced that the City of Danville, Va., has selected SumTotal Talent: Compensation and SumTotal Workforce Analytics and Planning cloud-based solutions to help the organization identify, develop, reward and retain high-performing employees and deliver value to its residents.

The City of Danville, which Industry Week Magazine named one of the Top 25 World Class Communities, encompasses 13 departments that provide services ranging from public safety and utilities to mass transit and parks and recreation. The city has been using the SumTotal Learn solution since 2011 and added performance management last year.  According to Organizational Development Consultant, Eddy Parham, the addition of SumTotal’s compensation and analytics solutions will enable the creation of a pay-for-performance culture that aligns with the city council’s vision for the community.

“We are looking to ensure that our employees have the skills they need to do their jobs well and provide great service to our residents. We want to foster high performers, recognize them for their performance and compensate them appropriately,” Parham said. “Using SumTotal’s solutions and analytics, we’ll be able to look across the board for consistency and provide employees and managers the information and tools they need to make well-informed decisions and improve efficiency and productivity.”

Parham said they have already seen success with their ability to create and deliver just-in-time training to employees and expects to get added value with the wider use of the SumTotal Talent Expansion suite. He said they selected SumTotal, in part, for the customer support, intuitive user interface and because it delivers a cost-effective, integrated solution.

“The City of Danville is the perfect example of how an organization’s requirements for HR solutions evolve over time. SumTotal understands that need for flexibility. We are thrilled to be helping the City of Danville expand its talent expansion initiatives in a way that meets both their short and long term goals,” said Holly Rollo, SumTotal chief marketing officer.
