Training and Technical Documentation Manager

Job Description

The Total University team at SumTotal Systems designs develops and delivers all of the training and associated online help, documentation and tools for SumTotal’s product suite. This group is comprised of a cross-functional team of high-level instructional design and documentation resources. All members perform both training and documentation duties during the course of their work, but specialize in one or the other.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves leadership of a group of the Total University India team based out of Hyderabad office. The team is responsible for the following:

• Developing cohesive documentation (white papers, manuals and help)
• Developing the material for online and instructor led courses
• Developing customized training packages and material for customer-specific requirements
• Delivering training to customers (both virtually and live) in the Asia pacific region

Knowledge and Skills

• Networking into a pool of product subject matter experts including developers. Quality assurance engineers and program managers
• Leading and managing a team to achieve higher productivity levels with strong adherence to deadlines and quality
• Working well in a virtual team across cultures and boundaries

Desired Profile

• Strong background in Technical Documentation and Online Courseware
• Strong expertise in desktop publishing tools such as RoboHelp and Framemaker
• Strong expertise in developing online courseware authoring tools
• Strong expertise in Office and Adobe products
• Experience in Macromedia Flash and/or Adobe Photoshop a plus
• Prior exposure to delivering technical classroom training in a global setting
• Global working experience
• Minimum two to three years’ prior experience in leading and managing a team
