Implementation Consultant

General Summary

Implementation consultant is responsible for performance benchmarking the client hardware, database and application servers by load/stress/performance testing and other practices. Participates in capacity planning and hardware sizing. Provides expert consultation to the customers on performance tuning

Responsibilities

• Perform application & database server tuning and performance monitoring.
• Validate/Benchmark technical/hardware implementation.
• Perform expert consultation and technical trouble-shooting to the customers.
• Perform software and hardware sizing/pricing.
• Perform performance/load/stress testing.
• Perform root cause analysis on the performance issues/problems.
• Interact with development and services departments.

• Must have worked for an IT department/services organization as a system/database administrator or as an application software support analyst in a Windows environment.
• Must have experience in software installation, configuration, tuning and support on Windows Enterprise Servers NT/2000/2003.
• Configuration and tuning IIS web servers.
• Must have experience working/tuning RDBMS, Specifically SQL and Oracle.
• Experience in writing/optimizing SQL queries.
• Hardware sizing skills on production, staging and test environments for web servers, database servers.
• Must be capable of recommending hardware infrastructure with load balancing options.
• Must have experience creating test plans.
• Experience in setting up a complete test environment.
• Exposure to Testing & QA processes.
• Usage and configuration of Web load and optionally Win runner, Mercury’s Load runner and other performance/load/stress testing tools/applications.
• Must have reasonably good communication skills.
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems or optionally data intensive web applications will be an added benefit.

Education & Experience

• 4 to 8 yrs.
• Over 3 yrs System/Database administration experience on Windows.
• B.E/B. Tech/M.C.A/University Degree in Computer Science.
• Location: Hyderabad.
• Overseas travel involved.
